Affiliate marketing is a way to promote other peoples’ product or services, as well as your own. You will make commissions based on certain actions being taken such as: Sales, leads, submissions. Or you can promote to your own product or service and make 100% of the profits.

This marketing method is HUGE in popularity and only growing. Having your own affiliate system is great for internal use when you get large enough; however, when starting out I would suggest using Clickbank. Clickbank is the #1 method people are using to get their online business or affiliate program up and running. It automates the entire process, including the tracking, payments and link building. You only have to upload your offer and your off to the races!

There are 3 Ways that you can get compensated, or compensate your affiliates:

#1: CPC or Cost Per Click – You can pay people on clicks they send; likewise, you can get paid to send clicks to certain offers. I only know of this working in CPA and in “JV Launches” so I would avoid this technique for now and revisit once you know what your traffic is worth.

#2: CPS or Cost-Per-Sale – This is the #1 way in which all programs are marketed. The industry for Cost Per Sale advertiser grows every 10 seconds and is making a TON of people loads of money. Often times, Affiliate marketers make more selling products than big time CEO’s make. This is no joke, and I would highly suggest taking this course when marketing or looking to have others market your products.

#3: CPL (Cost Per Lead) – Now, a lead can be anything but mostly refers to the acquisition of a potential clients information. Whether that’s their Zip code, cell phone number, name, email address…the list goes on and on honestly. I think this is the best way to get started, you get great payouts often times (if you are in the right CPA Network) and this ads up quickly and relatively easily.
