Lead Capture Improvements for Your Website.

Websites almost always have a “Contact Us” page on it somewhere. You can usually see it in the site navigation. This page will typically ask for your name, your email address, and has a comment box. The idea is that you’ll find and use this page when you are ready to make an inquiry.

It just doesn’t work that way.

Think of your own website. How many “Contact Us” forms do you get every month. If you’re getting any, you are in the very small minority.

Try these four ways to generate more leads on your site. Lead capture is easy to do if your follow these simple tips.

1. Ethical bribe. Bribes are not often thought of as a positive thing, but recently and ‘ethical’ bribe has taken on a more common marketing meaning. What can you use as an ethical bribe on your website? Try a free report, a coupon, a gift, a buy-one-get-one offer, a free analysis–use anything that would be of value to your target market in exchange for an email address.

2. Create a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a very unique type of landing page which has one job. And only one job. To encourage a visitor to leave their email address in exchange for an ethical bribe or sometimes just to move to the next page to see an offer. There is no navigation or other choices on the page. You sign up…or you leave.

3. Offer valuable information. All businesses are ultimately experts in their field. They have information that is valuable. Prospects and customers are searching the web actually looking for information. You can super charge your squeeze pages with ethical bribes based on supplying information in exchange for an email address. This is a good way to start a relationship and at the same time show expertise.

4. Offer a free evaluation. This is a pretty valuable offer. Simply offer to do an analysis at no charge. Often the analysis will help your prospect to think more about their needs and create for you an opportunity to build a relationship and offer a solution. An email signup form is a great mechanism to do make this offer.

Then what you have to do is count how many leads you are receiving from your “Contact Us” page, make changes using some of these lead capture methods and count the number of leads you receive after the changes. If you don’t notice any change in lead flow, then make different changes and measure again.

Do these four things well and you’ll get more leads!
