Typical Marketing Glitches Deadly To Business Success
We all recognize the failure rate for individual online entrepreneurs is fairly substantial. For many years I’ve read the same statistic that 80% of offline businesses fail within two years. Some of the reasons for online business failure are generally known, but not all of them can be known.
Mistakes of all kinds, spread out all over the place, are perhaps the single biggest killer of online goals. This activity of making money online allows for misinformation of all types across the board. But it does not matter why the errors are made – the only thing that counts is they are made and can produce devastating results.
Perhaps most people will naturally think that giving customers the greatest number of options is a good idea. Since most of us also like choices, there is a right time and place for offering them as marketers. Giving people a range of options frequently tends to be a flawed strategy if you want to make sales. The greatest approach is to avoid showing a menu of choices for your readers. You see, it has to do with human nature – in certain circumstances people have a hard time with decision making. Regrettably, that very much is true when it comes to deciding what to buy. They can become so indecisive that the very common outcome is nothing is bought!
If you are notoriously “cheap,” then stay clear of making the assumption that the rest of the world is cheap, too. What we are getting at is the erroneous presumption that all people want the most rock bottom price. Look all around you, there are cheap, inexpensive, and outrageously priced goods and services in all markets. Products priced in the upper stratosphere have been known for a long time. If every person was cheap, those companies could not have made it as long as they have. People want to spend a great deal on certain things for their own motives. If what you promote can be sold at a premium, then do not be afraid to ask for a fair price for it. It clearly can be done, so maybe study those companies who do sell more expensive products.
Once in a while you may get an idea for something and perhaps believe just about everyone who views it will want it. We all have at one time or another. On the other hand, over time there have been several products that seemed to appeal to everybody. But there’s never been a product from a single company that everybody on the planet purchased. The risk of this line of contemplating in your own business is it can easily make you complacent and fail to promote or advertise to the extent that you should. If you begin to imagine your product will be universally liked, then that will lead you down harmful paths. Not everybody will want to buy from you, or your product or service.
